The use of drones provides the real 'wow' factor at a wedding or event. However remember: to fly for any commercial operation (yes that includes weddings or events) whether for payment or someone has offered to do if for payment in kind/ favour ( yes we’ve heard that one too) your drone operator must have a current & valid PFCO issued by the Civil Aviation Authority which is (renewable every 12 months) and must hold full specialist Drone insurance, otherwise they are operating illegally & face prosecution. This is not an area to cut your event or wedding budget as an illegal operator is also putting you, your guests and the venue at serious risk. Never compromise on safety. There is a reason why qualified Commercial Aerial Photographers & Film Makers have the respective necessary costs to go with their expertise, qualifications, insurance and equipment- just the same as if you were sat in a plane and had that expectation of the pilot flying it!
