Last week we had the privilege of meeting up again with the Alliss family. The family of Peter Alliss the ‘voice of golf’. We were covering their wonderful Alliss Masters event which has raised over £10 million for motorised wheelchairs for children with disabilities to aid their mobility. It was incredible and humbling day and inspirational day seeing the smile on the children’s faces and also how brave and proud Peter’s wife Jackie was in continuing her tireless work. It reminded me of the previous year when I filmed this piece of Peter for the charity.
Literally one take; what a consummate professional and gifted orator. You may also noticed on the film Snooker star Willie Thorne who we also lost recently.
It’s a reminder of how important photography and film is in providing those treasured memories. I always remember Peter calling me ‘Davey my boy’. Still brings a tear to my eye. Particularly during the weekend of the Ryder Cup as unable to travel due to the current restrictions. Such an amazing family, amazing man and amazing voice
