No ‘Traitors' here, as TV’s Faithful Clare Balding joined captains Dame Laura Davies & Sir AP McCoy for another fantastic day of golf and fundraising in aid of the Alliss Broadcasters Cup (ABC).
Main Partner Design Production Installation (DPI) were joined by sponsors Titleist, Peter Millar, Whispering Angel & Arena Group.
The second year of this much talked about tournament took place in the iconic surroundings of Sunningdale Golf Club, Ascot, Berkshire, one of Peter Alliss's most cherished golf clubs.
Faithful performances from fellow broadcasters, the likes of Sam Torrance, Anton Du Beke, Damon Hill, Glenn Hoddle, Gianfranco Zola, Kriss Akabusi, Martin Bayfield, Wayne Riley, Nick Dougherty, Rishi Persad, Richard Boxall & Allan Lamb, to name but a few, joined the 20 teams vying to win the coveted ABC Trophy. Dame Laura Davies and her 'Rollers team' were keen to continue their winning form from the inaugural competition at Foxhills., however, Sir AP McCoy's 'Bentley team' plotted their downfall.
The fine weather was matched with some keen golf and the odd stop for a drop of whispering angel! Although the match was competitive, if you listen to some of the interviews, you will see that the main aim to raise funds for motorised wheelchairs for disabled children was never far away from their minds.
The days spoils were taken by Sir AP McCoy’s Bentley team. Fittingly the tournament now stands at one apiece for the 'Rollers' and ‘Bentleys'. So watch this space for the 2026 tournament, again to be held at Sunningdale on Monday 14th September 2026.
A Gala Dinner was followed by a busy auction including a multitude of fantastic items, raising considerable funds for towards the children's wheelchairs. This year, The Alliss Foundation were delighted to present seven wheelchairs to the most amazing children. A much needed tonic for them and their supportive families.
Altogether a perfect day, and not a traitor in sight!
